What is a RDB file?
Developed by Dantz Software and owned by EMC Insignia, the Retrospect Backup, a backup and disaster protection software, uses the RDB extension. The format is one amongst several backup sets created by the program and contains a mirror image of the user’s memory storage (that he chose to backup). It can be used to restore data lost by him due to unforeseen damage to the hard disk. These follow the following naming convention – AA000000.RDB, AA000001.RDB, and so on.
