What is a XBM file?

The XBM file format is a part of the X Windows System (X11). It is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) that manages the networked client-server computers. The X Bitmap (XBM) is an ASCII text monochrome which stores cursor and icons in use by the X GUI. It belongs to the raster group and stores images as plain texts in the C programming language. It results in a file which can be compiled directly into any application but with a larger size (6 bytes in an XBM file for every byte of image data).

How to Make XBM Files
