What is a R00 file?
They are files related to WinRAR or RAR compression tool. The tool is used to compress R00 files into a single or multiple parts of a split archive. These files are used a lot online and, most notably, on a sharing website. After you have downloaded an R00 file, the rules are that you must unpack the contents. You are most probably more familiar with ZIP files for compressing files. However, R00 files have more advantages. First, they are suitable for multivolume archives. Two, they are ideal for tight compressions for multimedia, text modes, and special solids, recovery records (for the repair of archives), brilliant AES-128 encryption as well as Unicode for files in foreign languages. Initially, WinRAR files were written as .rar or .exe for the first volume and .r01, .r02, r03..(or .001, .002, .003…) for the extra volumes. Today, they use .rar or .exe for the first part and .part1.rar, .part2.rar, .part3.rar for the latter volumes.
